Temple worship in integral aspect of Latter-day Saints’ devotion to God. Members of the Church are encouraged to attend the temple to receive saving ordinances for themselves and to return often to act as proxies in performing the same ordinances for those who died without the opportunity to receive the ordinances in mortality. The Salt Lake Temple is probably the most distinguished of Mormon temples.
